He was a member of the B.S.A. Police in the then Rhodesia from 1961 – 1980, sixteen years of which were in the CID and Special Branch.
He left Zimbabwe in September 1980 and went into the building industry in the capacities of sales consultant, sales manager and branch manager for three different companies. He is presently on early retirement. His wife’s name is Joanna.
He has always been a keen writer and started writing poetry and short stories for fun at the age of 12. He has written seven poems, not published. As at October 2007 over 1500 copies have been sold.
For nearly ten years in the 1980s he was a free-lance sports correspondent for Bloemfontein newspapers and SA Bowls magazines. In 2001 he became a provincial selector and served for three years.
